Overcoming Negativity in Your Business

 April 6, 2016

By  Tom Jackobs

Let’s talk about how to get rid of negativity in your business. I know. I’ve been there before. It can be debilitating if you let those negative thoughts keep you from moving forward. Fortunately, I’ve learned a few little tips to stay positive.

overcome negativityFirst, make a list of at least five things that you’ve done in your life that have been pretty awesome. Look at that list. I mean, come on, what have you done that has been amazing? You opened your own business. A lot of people talk about it, but very few people actually do it. You have done it, and that’s awesome. Now, look at that list and think about what you had to do to actually accomplish those things that you’re most proud of. Probably you were nervous starting out, but once you got the accomplishment, it was awesome, right? Celebrate.

Your homework is to make a list of all the great accomplishments that you have done in your life. What did you do to make those accomplishments become a reality? I’m sure it was a lot. Be proud of it, and then read it aloud every morning, especially on those days that seem really tough. Know that you can overcome whatever comes your way.

Now, think about the failures. Failures are actually amazing. They are successes in disguise, because they are learning opportunities. You can turn a failure into a good thing when you’ve learned something from it. Look at all the times where things didn’t go right. What did you learn from it, and what have you done in the past to get over it? Once you see how to learn from the past, you can get through the present.

I hope this was helpful for you. Celebrate those successes. Celebrate the times where you have overcome failures and where you have learned important things. I hope to connect with you soon.
