Sales systems come in all shapes and sizes. Seven step that or ten step this. I have developed a new type of selling that is different from the norm. It’s all about stories that connect on a personal level.
Many sales systems push manipulation. Like mirroring the other person. If they lean forward, you lean forward. It’s to help you appear more relatable but can come across as unauthentic. You want to ask questions and build rapport. You want to connect with the others through heartfelt methods and not tricks.
Nothing beats telling stories. A well-told story can connect people. You can teach others where you are coming from and the lesson you want to convey. Stories help you go through the sales process. Identifying the problems, understanding it from the prospect’s viewpoint and creating a solution just for them. Never forget to ask for the sale!
Asking for the business or the sale can be uncomfortable for many salespeople. It’s something that you need to do, however, and with storytelling it can be more natural and convincing.
When you have a strong connection with the prospect asking for the next step is natural and clients will often take the next step before you even need to ask.
