Have you heard of the Dream 100?
The Dream 100 was created as a concept where you will create a list of 100 contacts you want to go after. These contacts are your targets. They’re names of actual people you want to go after, not 100 different markets you’re trying to add to your contact list. At all times, you only want to go after one target.
Here are three tips to help you really engage with your Dream 100.
- Figure out who your target market is. Find out what industry they’re in, what type of people they are and who is it that you are actually going after? That becomes your target. That is your ideal person that you are going after.
- Identify the actual names of people that fit that demographic so that you can build out that Dream 100. It might only take one afternoon or it might take an entire month to come up with that Dream 100. There might be a lot of research you need to do depending on your industry.
- Connect with the 100 people you identified in step #2. You want to find a warm connection, so look at their LinkedIn profile. Find out who you have mutual connections with, or if you know someone that can connect you both. Check your Facebook and see if you have any friends in common or if you know any industry people that may be able to connect you with that individual person. You want to pursue those warm connections first. If you can’t get the warm connection, cold calling these individuals will work as well. If you have their address, you can send them a card, using the link below, and make it very easy for them to actually see who you are. You don’t want to ask, you just want to offer value.
